Steamboat Springs has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Basalt Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Basalt took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Steamboat Springs, who comes in off a win.

Jeffrey Sturges and Cole Campbell were among the main playmakers for Steamboat Springs as the former scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Campbell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Kolb, who scored seven points.
After soaring to a 24-point win in their last game, Basalt came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell just short of Summit by a score of 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Basalt got a solid performance out of Wyatt Loomis, who scored 21 points along with two steals. That was a full 36.8% of Basalt's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Zealand Lane was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.

Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Steamboat Springs have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 42.4% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Basalt struggles in that department as they've made 39.1% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Steamboat Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over the Longhorns when the teams last played back in January, winning 50-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Steamboat Springs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
