It was a good run, but the Eno River Bobcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 54-26 loss at the hands of Vance Charter. Eno River has struggled against Vance Charter recently, as their match on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Madison Hobbs and Seno Chan certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Hobbs scored nine points, while Chan scored two points along with two steals. Chan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vance Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Bullock, who scored seven points along with 11 steals and eight rebounds. Bullock is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Katherine Suther, who scored 17 points along with five steals.
Eno River's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. As for Vance Charter, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eno River will take on Research Triangle at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Research Triangle comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Vance Charter, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wake Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m.
