The Catholic Central Sabers will be playing at home against the Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Catholic Central will be strutting in after a victory while Grand Traverse Academy will be coming in after a loss.
Catholic Central can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on Crossroads Charter Academy with a sharp 49-23 win. The win was just what Catholic Central needed coming off of a 64-30 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Grand Traverse Academy, who are still winless after their eighth match. They took a serious blow against Harbor Light Christian on January 4th, falling 77-28. While losing is never fun, Grand Traverse Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 742nd, while Harbor Light Christian is ranked 296th).
Catholic Central's win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8. As for Grand Traverse Academy, their loss was their 14th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-8.
Catholic Central strolled past Grand Traverse Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2018 by a score of 55-36. Does Catholic Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grand Traverse Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
