Last Friday, Spalding Academy put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They took the game and then some with a 61-20 victory over Santee. Senior Colton Leslie, who rushed for 156 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in Spalding Academy's success. If you haven't heard Leslie's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past seven games.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Elba, and their matchup last Thursday only extended their streak of losses to seven. They took a serious blow against Walthill, falling 0-56. The state rankings had actually given Elba a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Spalding Academy were fully in charge the last time the two teams met, breezing past Elba 66-0. Will Spalding Academy repeat their success, or does Elba have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
