The Benson Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season. They breezed by The Gregory School at home to the tune of 67-20. Given Benson's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while The Gregory School is ranked 243rd), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kaylei Taylor continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 12 rebounds. Those 36 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Adalie Lewis, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Benson's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for The Gregory School, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-9.
Benson will be playing at home against Willcox at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Willcox focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. As for The Gregory School, they will head out on the road to face off against San Manuel at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
