Webutuck is 0-10 against Dover since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Webutuck Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Dover Dragons at 5:45 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 25 consecutive losses for Webutuck and four for Dover.
Webutuck suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were dealt a 87-35 defeat at the hands of Millbrook. While losing is never fun, Webutuck can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 811th, while Millbrook is ranked 269th).
Meanwhile, Dover struggled with assists on Thursday (Millbrook had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Dover falling 58-40.
Despite the loss, Dover had strong showings from Caden Green, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and eight steals, and Justin Cardwell, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shazell Bush, who scored nine points.
Webutuck dropped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their 16th straight on the road. Dover's record now sits at 3-7.
Webutuck came up short against Dover in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 52-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cardwell, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds. Now that Webutuck knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
