Basketball Recap: USC-MAE Skates Past Central City Value with Ease

A well-balanced attack led USC-MAE over Central City Value in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Trojans blew the Jaguars out of the water with a 67-24 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-12.

USC-MAE was led to victory by Adrion Gilbert and Andrew Johnson. Gilbert almost dropped a triple-double with 28 points, 13 boards, and nine steals, while Johnson dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Gilbert's third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Castellanos, who posted six points.

USC-MAE was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central City Value only racked up six.

Central City Value's loss came despite strong showings from Andy Lobos and Robert Mejia. Lobos put up 11 points and four steals, while Mejia earned five points.

The victory was the third in a row for USC-MAE, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 66.0 points this season. As for Central City Value, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
