The Harding Presidents won the last time they faced the Bullard-Havens Tigers, and things went their way on Saturday too. Harding escaped with a win against Bullard-Havens by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45.
Harding's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Craig Chandler, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Chandler has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hasan Powell, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Harding's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Bullard-Havens, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harding on the road again on Friday and play against Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Bullard-Havens, they will take on Abbott RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Abbott RVT is ranked 132nd, while Bullard-Havens is ranked 147th).
