Sayre  took care of business in their home opener  on Friday (and then some). Everything went their way against the Canton Warriors as the Sayre Redskins made off with  a  16-8 victory. For Sayre, this counts as revenge for the   16-1 defeat Canton walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in April of 2023.
  Raegan Parrish made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and five unearned) runs off   three  hits. Parrish was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Abbie Mcgaughey was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Rylee Lantz, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 On Canton's side,  Jaylee Ward made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cyra Hugo, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Sayre will head out on the road to  face off against  Williamson at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Canton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Millville at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Canton has given up an average of 16 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
