If Elko wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lowry, they should've done a better job of containing Britain Backus. Everything went the Lowry Buckaroos' way against the Elko Indians on Saturday as the Lowry Buckaroos made off with a 58-37 win thanks in part to Backus, who went 12 for 25 on her way to 31 points and four steals. Her afternoon made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Elko lost, don't look at Jessica Vera. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Vera is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Lindsey Johns was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points.

Lowry has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Elko, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-7.

Lowry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-39 victory against Spring Creek on the 7th. As for Elko, they will welcome Fernley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fernley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
