North County Christian lost against the Mississippi Valley Christian Warriors last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. North County Christian took a hard 40-26 fall against Mississippi Valley Christian. North County Christian has struggled against Mississippi Valley Christian recently, as their match on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, North County Christian saw an underclassman step up: Sarita Rao scored 16 points. Rao scored a full 61.5% of North County Christian's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandra Rao, who scored six points.
Mississippi Valley Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Gaworski, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. Gaworski hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Remi Sapp was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds.
North County Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mississippi Valley Christian, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing The Fulton the next time they take the court. North County Christian will host The Fulton at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, while Mississippi Valley Christian will head out to face them at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.
