St. Pius X lost 12-5 to Episcopal on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.
Abi Odom 2025 was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She also put up a home run, which was her first of the season.
Odom 2025 wasn't the only one working in the hit department: St. Pius X kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, St. John XXIII came up short against Houston Christian two weeks ago, falling 11-3.
Camila Melendez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.
St. Pius X now has a losing record of 5-6-2. As for St. John XXIII, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Pius X hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like St. John XXIII struggles in that department as they've averaged .315. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
