League recap: Dowling extends winning streak with victory over Marshalltown

Dowling extended the longest winning streak in 4A Division 3 this week by beating Marshalltown, 46-9. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Maroons.

Ottumwa took down Hoover 54-17 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Marshalltown's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bobcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Blake Gimbel has thrown for 3328 yards and 30 touchdowns this season, while De'Quan McDowell has 64 catches for 1001 yards. Connor Ruddick leads the league in rushing with 250 yards.

Dowling made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 922 from 1,402. The improvement came about via a 46-9 victory over the Bobcats last week.
