The Southern Choctaw Indians won the last time they faced the Sweet Water Bulldogs, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Southern Choctaw came out on top against Sweet Water by a score of 61-50.
Marcionna Young was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. Keri Mcgee was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds.
Southern Choctaw pushed their record up to 5-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Sweet Water, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Choctaw will face off against Marengo at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sweet Water, they will head out on the road to face off against Millry at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Millry comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
