The North Bergen Bruins will venture away from home to take on the Ferris Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Bergen has four straight wins, Ferris has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Ferris better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if North Bergen's game on Friday is any indication, that's when North Bergen really gets things going. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 24-3 margin over Indian Hills. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won four games by 20 points or more so far this season.

North Bergen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexier Deleon, who rushed for 127 yards and two TDs on only nine carries. Deleon also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks, forcing two fumbles, and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss). North Bergen also got a significant boost from Dom Valazquez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Bergen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 232 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to North Bergen's defense and their four sacks. Indian Hills' QB won't forget Deleon anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Another thorn in the Braves' side was George Tamer, who made 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Ferris fell victim to Dickinson and their airtight defense on Saturday. They were beaten by the Rams 36-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Bulldogs haven't been shut out since back in September.
Ferris' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for North Bergen, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
North Bergen took their win against Ferris when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 42-22 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
