The Albemarle School Colts and the Columbia Wildcats will round out the year against one another at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Albemarle School and four for Columbia.
Last Thursday, Albemarle School had to suffer through a rough 72-38 loss at the hands of Eastern Christian HomeSchool. Albemarle School was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-12.
Despite the loss, Albemarle School had strong showings from Brenden Wooten, who scored ten points along with three steals, and David Berry, who scored 11 points along with four blocks. Wooten continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Columbia suffered a tough 60-40 defeat at the hands of Northside - Pinetown on Friday. Columbia has struggled against Northside - Pinetown recently, as their game on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Albemarle School bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Albemarle School was taken down by Columbia 82-53 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Albemarle School was down 48-19.
