After a spectacular junior season that saw Jaden Hardy of Coronado average 30.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game, the the 6-foot-4 guard has been named the 2019-20 Suddenlink Nevada Player of the Year.
Hardy's junior season was highlighted by a 62-point game in which he led his team back from a 21-point deficit to defeat Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) 85-84 in overtime. Hardy also had 11 rebounds, six assists, five blocks and four steals in the comeback victory.
Regarded as a Top 10 player in the Class of 2021, Hardy is likely to receive high national honors on the MaxPreps Junior All-American Team at the end of the year as well after nearly averaging a triple-double on the season.
The 5-star junior prospect led Coronado to a 19-9 record against a tough national schedule. The Cougars' season-ending 81-77 loss came against Durango (Las Vegas) in the Desert Region semifinals, despite 31 points from Hardy.
