If the Iowa Colony Pioneers were feeling good off their 98-43 takedown of the Bay City Blackcats on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Iowa Colony was beaten by Klein Forest 85-58 on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daylon Dalcour, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Jaylen Brown was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Iowa Colony's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-11. As for Klein Forest, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
Iowa Colony will be home for the holidays to greet Ball at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ball presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Iowa Colony in Texas (Ball is ranked 143rd, while Iowa Colony is ranked 552nd). Klein Forest and Waller will round out the year against one another at TBD on December 27th at. Waller has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1.
