The West Cabarrus Wolverines pushed their score all the way to 66 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 82-66 to Lake Norman. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (63), West Cabarrus still had to take the loss.
Lake Norman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trent Steinour out in front who scored 16 points along with five blocks. Steinour is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. Josh Yates was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
West Cabarrus' loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Lake Norman, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 19-1.
West Cabarrus will head out on the road to take on A.L. Brown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A.L. Brown is coming into the match with seven straight defeats at home, so West Cabarrus is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Lake Norman will take on Hickory Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lake Norman's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 15 matchups.
