The Ridgway Demons won the last time they faced the Telluride Miners, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Ridgway put the hurt on Telluride with a sharp 41-16 victory. That looming 41-16 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Ridgway yet this season.
Ridgway's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maddie Miller, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Miller pulled down eight or more rebounds. Ali Sauer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Emma Reggiannini and Tjarn Lyons certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Reggiannini dropped a double-double on 11 rebounds and 13 steals, while Lyons scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. Reggiannini is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
The victory got Ridgway back to even at 3-3. As for Telluride, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Dolores the next time they take the court. Telluride will head out to face Dolores at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Ridgway will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
