East Paulding's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bode Spence, who threw for 158 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes. What's more, Spence racked up 145.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. Jason Green was in the mix as well, providing East Paulding with two scores.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to East Paulding's defense and their 5.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Treveon Lewis and Mason Wright, who racked up four sacks between them. Wright also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six. Gabe Thompson-Fields got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Alexander had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 28-21 victory over Kennesaw Mountain on Friday.
East Paulding better keep an eye on Jaquan Sutton. He was instrumental in Alexander's win, rushing for 200 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Lovett, who picked up 133 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Alexander was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.
Alexander's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for East Paulding, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Everything came up roses for East Paulding against Alexander when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
