The Elgin Academy Hilltoppers's three-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 60-28 win over Alden-Hebron at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Elgin Academy has managed all season.
It was another big night for Chris Tacher, who scored 21 points along with nine steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Elgin Academy's points. Camren Horton was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Elgin Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Alden-Hebron, they bumped their record down to 4-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elgin Academy will take on Latin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alden-Hebron, they will be playing at home against Schaumburg Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Schaumburg Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Alden-Hebron likes a good challenge.
