Zionsville is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Lincoln-Way East. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Griffins an 8-0 shutout. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Davis Moore looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tyler Hughes was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Camden Moore, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Zionsville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Lincoln-Way East, their loss dropped their record down to 21-6.

Looking ahead, Zionsville is taking a road trip to square off against Andrean at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lincoln-Way East, they will be playing at home against Lockport at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
