It was a good run, but the Mansfield Wolverines unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Winnfield on the road and fell 89-56. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (55), Mansfield still had to take the loss.
Winnfield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cl Davis out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Damascus Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Mansfield's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Winnfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Mansfield will head out on the road to take on the Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeview will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Winnfield will take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jonesboro-Hodge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Tigers are ranked 72nd).
