The Forestview Jaguars can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Ashbrook with a sharp 60-38 win. Winning may never get old, but Forestview sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Forestview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tralyn Phillips out in front who scored 14 points along with five steals. Phillips is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Forgan, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Ashbrook's loss came despite strong showings from Arianna Mcdowell and Nykira Arrington. Mcdowell dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Arrington scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Mcdowell hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games.
Ashbrook struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Forestview racked up 14 assists.
Forestview is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Ashbrook, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Forestview will head out on the road to square off against Kings Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kings Mountain is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Ashbrook, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against North Gaston at 6:00 p.m. North Gaston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
