This season hasn't been kind to the Wisconsin School for the Deaf Firebirds, who are still winless after their ninth game. They took a serious blow against Rock County Christian on Tuesday, falling 51-15. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Rock County Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tony Thompson out in front who scored 14 points along with four steals. Thompson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Gideon Ukwuorji was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Wisconsin School for the Deaf dropped their record down to 0-9 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rock County Christian, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wisconsin School for the Deaf will take on the Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oklahoma School for the Deaf is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season. As for Rock County Christian, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
