Tempe was the 54-28 winner over Moon Valley when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between the Tempe Buffaloes and the Moon Valley Rockets didn't end well, with the Tempe Buffaloes falling 49-30. The Buffaloes' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Several Buffaloes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kiari Montanez-Woods, who posted 11 points. That was a full 36.7% of Tempe's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Samarah Massicot, who had nine points.

Moon Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamariana Shaw out in front who earned 14 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniston Pattershall, who posted 11 points along with seven assists and four blocks.

Tempe's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Moon Valley, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tempe will head out to take on Greenway at 5:30 p.m. on December 18th. As for Moon Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Peoria at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th. Moon Valley is facing Peoria at the right time seeing as Peoria is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
