Basketball Game Preview: Norwayne Bobcats vs. Canton Central Catholic Crusaders

The Norwayne Bobcats will take on the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Norwayne is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Hillsdale: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Norwayne blew Hillsdale out of the water with a 79-47 final score. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Parker Metsker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 assists. Those 16 assists gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braden West, who went 7 for 14 en route to 21 points.

Meanwhile, Canton Central Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over John F. Kennedy Catholic on Saturday, taking the game 65-53. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Eagles are ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Canton Central Catholic is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Norwayne, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
