Even though the Palmer Terrors scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, the Thompson Valley Eagles still came out on top. Thompson Valley escaped with a win against Palmer by the margin of a single free throw, 59-58. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Thompson Valley.
It was another big night for Brady Kennison, who went 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and 3 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Thompson Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gustavo Varela-bencomo, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Several Terrors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Walker Asp, who scored 17 points. The game was Asp's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Weber, who scored 8 points along with 10 assists and 5 rebounds.
Thompson Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Palmer, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thompson Valley will take on Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Northridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday. As for Palmer, they will be playing at home against Denver East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
