The Glendale Vikings lost against the Curwensville Golden Tide back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Glendale took a 42-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Tide. Glendale has struggled against the Golden Tide recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Glendale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Potutschnig, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals. Potutschnig hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Mcgarvey, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
It was another big night for Davis Fleming, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Curwensville. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fleming has scored at least a third of Curwensville's points. Another player making a difference was Parker Wood, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Glendale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Curwensville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glendale will take on the Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. North Star is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.9 points per game this season. As for Curwensville, they will head out on the road to square off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
