Central and Tyrone are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Central's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Bishop Guilfoyle with a sharp 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Coltin Harbaugh looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Wyatt Dilling was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jesse Muthler, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Guilfoyle only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Tyrone came up short against Bishop McCort on Friday, falling 9-1. The game marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Tyrone also got a good showing from Carter Price, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, Price didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Tyrone saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jon Stroup, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Tyrone's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Central took their win against Tyrone in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-4 score. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
