Mitchell is on a 15-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), the Cardinals an eight-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Mitchell Marauders will take on the Elizabeth Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Mitchell had to suffer through a rough 76-25 loss at the hands of the Scorpions. Mitchell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-8.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth came up short against the Titans on Friday and fell 61-52. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Elizabeth in their matchups with the Titans: they've now lost six in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cooper Connelley, who scored 13 points along with four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Dunn, who scored 15 points.
Even though they lost, Elizabeth were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. This was only their 12th loss (out of 15 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Elizabeth, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.
Mitchell was dealt a bruising 70-25 defeat at the hands of the Cardinals when the teams last played back in January. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mitchell was down 40-8.
