Faith Christian walked away with a 66-54 win over Tri-Central. With that win, Faith Christian brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.
Faith Christian found their leader in underclassman Maya Layton, who scored 45 points along with 3 steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Layton has scored at least 25% of Faith Christian's points. Johanna Haste was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Western Boone's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Tri-West Hendricks at home and fell 69-37. While losing is never fun, Western Boone can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Tri-West Hendricks is ranked 126th).
Despite the defeat, Western Boone got a solid performance out of Ki'erra Koch, who scored 13 points along with 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Ally Lewis, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Faith Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Western Boone, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-7 record last season and are now at 3-6.
