The Stevenson Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Wahkiakum Mules at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Stevenson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against Columbia by a score of 50-43.
Meanwhile, Wahkiakum didn't have too much trouble with Kalama on the road on Thursday as they won 65-48. Given Wahkiakum's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Kalama is ranked 314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stevenson's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Wahkiakum, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Stevenson ended up a good deal behind Wahkiakum when the teams last played back in December of 2021, losing 66-50. Can Stevenson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
