It was a good run, but The Randolph Ro-Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. They fell just short of Cole by a score of 35-32. Randolph gained 94 more yards on the day, but it was Cole that made the best of use of them.
Randolph's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Lee Mcmooain iii, who picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Collin Stucki, who threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt.
Cole's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zachary Blue led the charge by rushing for 62 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Another big playmaker for Cole was Taiwo Atunrase, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Randolph's loss dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Cole, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Randolph will be playing in front of their home fans against Luling at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Luling will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 988th, while Randolph is ranked 318th). As for Cole, they will head out on the road to face off against Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Marion focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday.
