The Manheim Central Barons will head out on the road to face off against the Exeter Township Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manheim Central is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Manheim Central stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-0 win over Governor Mifflin at home. Manheim Central pushed the score to 28-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Governor Mifflin had little chance of recovering from.
Michael Torres III had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 257 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Aaron Enterline made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Exeter Township's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 34-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Conestoga Valley.
Exeter Township might have lost, but man, Jayden Zandier was a machine: he rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. Zandier was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.
With Manheim Central's win and Exeter Township's defeat, both teams now sport identical 8-1 records.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Manheim Central has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 421.6 total yards per game. However, it's not like Exeter Township struggles in that department as they've been averaging 359.4 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Manheim Central came up short against Exeter Township in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 21-17. Can Manheim Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
