Boe Di Lorenzo looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Mark Ripp was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Oscar Yuhas-Vining, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Omaha Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bryan only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Bellevue West might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Elkhorn South who claimed the real prize. Bellevue West wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Drew Grego put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). Grego was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, CJ Shockey and Aiden Ensor did some serious damage despite the final result: Shockey went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Ensor scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
