Hutsonville/Palestine will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Grayville on Wednesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bison. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Hayden Monan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Red Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Martinsville on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Salukis have posted since April 9, 2024.
Like Hutsonville/Palestine, Red Hill also got a great game from a two-way player: Whitley McCaslin. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. McCaslin was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Kaelynn Biehl was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Seed, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Hutsonville/Palestine is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.7 runs. As for Red Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
Red Hill's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hutsonville/Palestine has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. It's a different story for Red Hill, though, as they've only averaged .273. Will they be able to contain Hutsonville/Palestine's hitters?
Hutsonville/Palestine took their win against Red Hill in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 22-0 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Salukis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
