Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Union Mine Diamondbacks, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by Bradshaw Christian on the road and fell 41-7. Union Mine's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Brandon Burden was on fire for Bradshaw Christian: he rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Burden was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards. Nathan Zeppieri was in the mix as well, providing Bradshaw Christian with two touchdowns.
Union Mine's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Bradshaw Christian, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Union Mine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bradshaw Christian will face off against Sonora at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sonora is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
