Ja'marion Garrett Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Dunbar's Ja'Marion Garrett, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Garrett rushed for 193 yards and five touchdowns on only six carries.
This year, Garrett has run in 10 touchdowns while averaging 165 rushing yards per game.

Groeneweg Made His Presence Known in Glen Rose's 56-6 Victory
Josiah Groeneweg was a major factor in Glen Rose's win over Hillsboro on Friday. Hillsboro had no answer to Groeneweg as he rushed for 202 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Groeneweg was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards.
If the past is any indication, Groeneweg could be in store for another big game when he takes on Venus on Friday. Groeneweg picked up 212 receiving yards and three touchdowns the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in October of 2023.

Canyon Evans Makes It Two for Glen Rose
Keeping Groeneweg company is Canyon Evans, a fellow Glen Rose player. He threw for 231 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Evans is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Venus on Friday. Evans threw for 379 yards and six touchdowns on only 19 passes the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in October of 2023.

Adam Pempsell Turns in Season-Best Performance
Sadly, Adam Pempsell posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Godley over Benbrook on Friday. Pempsell rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns.
Pempsell and Godley will be playing in front of their home fans against Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will pit Pempsell up against Dunbar's star RB Kamron Lloyd. Will the matchup be decided in the trenches? We'll have our answer very soon.

Brennan Barton's Big Game Leads Benbrook over Godley
Brennan Barton was instrumental in extending Benbrook's winning streak to seven on Friday. Barton was dynamite, throwing for 211 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 59 yards. Those 59 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Unfortunately for Godley, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Barton. When Barton last faced the Wildcats back in November of 2023, he threw for 254 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt.
