Rubio scored nine points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Hernandez scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Hernandez has scored at least 25% of Arrowhead Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Anna Bright, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Arrowhead Christian Academy's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Ajo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Arrowhead Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Sonoran Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sonoran Science Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Ajo, they will head out on the road to face off against Skyline Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyline Prep's defense has only allowed 18.7 points per game this season, so Ajo's offense will have their work cut out for Ajo.
