Roosevelt (Wyandotte, Mich.) extended its winning streak to 11 games with a 45-12 victory over Truman (Taylor, Mich.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
D'Aries Davis in the first quarter, the Bears led 24-6 at the half.
Roosevelt expanded its lead to 32 points entering the fourth quarter. RHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Cecil Greene.
Kyle Matejko played well for the Wyandotte school in the victory. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
The Cougars came in surrendering 15.8 points per game this season. Truman struggled against Roosevelt's offense, who entered the game scoring 45.4 points per game. Roosevelt went into the matchup giving up only 13.1 points per game. The 12 points that THS ended with were well below its average of 45.6 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Truman, which notched a 36-19 victory over Allen Park in its previous outing. The loss snapped Truman's two-game winning streak.
