After flying high against the Westlake Christian Academy Eagles two weeks ago, the Schaumburg Christian Conquerors came back down to earth. Schaumburg Christian took a 46-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alden-Hebron. Schaumburg Christian has not had much luck with Alden-Hebron recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Defeat or not, Schaumburg Christian got some senior leadership from Carynton Hobson and Bella Bustamante. Hobson dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Bustamante. scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Hobson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Schaumburg Christian's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Alden-Hebron, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.
Schaumburg Christian will be playing at home against Christian Liberty at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Alden-Hebron won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Willows Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Willows Academy is on a eight-game streak of home wins, Alden-Hebron a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
