Sheridan hasn't had much luck against Jonesboro recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. Sheridan will be strutting in after a win while Jonesboro will be coming in after a defeat.
Sheridan is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat West Memphis 64-20. The Yellowjackets pushed the score to 57-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Blue Devils had no chance of recovering from.
Sheridan can attribute much of their success to Easton Barksdale, who threw for 386 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt, and Zay Stephens, who gained 133 total yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Dylan Smith, who picked up 122 receiving yards and one TD.

Sheridan's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Jaxson Delk was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Jonesboro played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Benton, falling 55-24. The Hurricane have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Sheridan will need to focus on slowing down Kameron Davis, one of several Jonesboro players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 184 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Asa Myers was another key signal caller, throwing for 263 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Jonesboro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Clarence Mucherson and Jaylen Alexander. Eric Blocker was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles.
The victory got Sheridan back to even at 2-2. As for Jonesboro, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Sheridan might still be hurting after the 49-28 defeat they got from Jonesboro in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Myers, who threw for 238 yards and five TDs on only 15 passes.
