NorthPoint Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Lake Norman Christian Lions. The win was familiar territory for the NightHawks, who have now won 14 games in a row dating back to last season.
Micah Enriquez made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance gave him a new career-low in hits. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Porter, who went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.
