Baseball Recap: Plainview's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Plainview had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Sylvania Rams 14-3 on Saturday. The Bears' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Creek Johnson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-low in hits. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. In other batting news, Riley Bannister was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Eli Sampson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Plainview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Plainview's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Sylvania, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Plainview will face off against Kate Duncan Smith DAR at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sylvania, they will host Fyffe at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
