The Coral Reef Barracudas entered their tilt with the Carol City Chiefs with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Coral Reef strolled past Carol City with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 62-44. Coral Reef pushed the score to 44-24 by the end of the third, a deficit Carol City cut but never quite recovered from.
Angel Santos was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 15 points. Ashton Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Despite the loss, Carol City still got an impressive performance from Jahquori Lombrage, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Lombrage hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Oluwasemilore Adewoye, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Coral Reef's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Carol City, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Coral Reef will be playing in front of their home fans against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 matches -- so hopefully Coral Reef likes a good challenge. As for Carol City, they will head out on the road to take on Miami Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Miami Beach presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carol City in Florida (Miami Beach is ranked 250th, while Carol City is ranked 559th).
