The Ridgedale Rockets lost against the Delaware Christian Eagles back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Ridgedale fell just short of Delaware Christian by a score of 46-43. While losing is never fun, Ridgedale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Delaware Christian is ranked 77th).
Delaware Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julia Pearch, who scored 16 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals. Pearch is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Addy Beard, who scored 15 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Ridgedale and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Delaware Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgedale will take on Calvary Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Delaware Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Granville Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
