Having just played yesterday, the Plainview Pirates will jump right back in to play the Central Valley Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, Plainview took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 51-23 victory over Burwell.
Plainview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marque Albin, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Teya Boyer, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Central Valley entered their tilt with Ansley/Litchfield with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Central Valley was the clear victor by a 47-23 margin over Ansley/Litchfield.
Central Valley's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cayle Grossart, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Annaka Wood, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Plainview's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Central Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Friday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Plainview have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 30.1% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Central Valley struggles in that department as they've made 38.3% of their threes per game this season.
