The Brooklyn Hurricanes are taking a road trip to challenge the Cornerstone Christian Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone Christian took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Brooklyn, who comes in off a win.
Brooklyn took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Cleveland Central Catholic 21-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hurricanes considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Mason Vega and Collin Flanagan were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Vega pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Flanagan struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Vega has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Vega got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI, while Flanagan got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Brooklyn is undefeated when Vega posts two or more runs, but 1-13 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aiden Starr, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Brooklyn's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-12 when he doesn't). Tyler Cox was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Brooklyn hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 8-4 to Western Reserve Academy.
With the win, Brooklyn broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-13. As for Cornerstone Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Brooklyn came out on top in a nail-biter against Cornerstone Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2022, sneaking past 13-11. Will the Hurricanes repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
